Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. According to a previous negative sleeve (#2350), the West's viewed the Holy Name parade from their hotel window at the "Statler," now Boston Park Plaza. An out-of-focus and poorly-lit photograph of the Holy Name Society convention's parade marching along a Boston street, as viewed from the West's hotel. The parade is viewed from an elevated perspective. A portion of Statler Park is visible along the bottom edge at left. Beyond it, parade participants march towards the right in formation along Stuart Street. The street passes through the image on an upward angle from right to left. Large crowds of spectators line both sides of the street. Some also stand in Statler Park. A block of buildings stands along the opposite side of the street. It is mostly obscured by shadow. An arcing streak of white occupies the center of the image. Text from negative sleeve: [handwritten:] x [end handwritten] 2353.
