S. E. view of the Rodriguez adobe on Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, about 1914. (Photo of a water color sketch). It stood on West Chapman Avenue, "midway between Orana and the Santa Ana river." The side of the house is visible with large trees in the back and a porch on the front and back. Gables, chimney and windows are visible including a small loft window. It was the ranch house of Francisco Rodriguez and likely built by him in the early 1860's. It faced the northwest. Courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Severance. The painting was made by Miss Richards, an art teacher, and found at the University of Missouri.
