Description
Plying the waters since 1878, the steamboat "Pride of the River" is shown in action, in circa 1911, somewhere along the Sacramento River. The 175-foot-long craft was constructed at San Francisco's Meigg's Wharf and could carry up to 500 tons of goods. It was powered by two first-motion engines, providing thrust equal to 700 horse-power.
