This afternoon photograph, taken in August 1927 and shot from the western bank of the Sacramento River, shows the set of the 1928 film “Steamboat Bill, Jr.,” starring Buster Keaton. The northerly view shows two steamboats and a makeshift village on the Sacramento County side of the river.
