Description
KNTV San Jose broadcast news footage for June 11, 1969; may be combination of the early and late news, includes national, local, sports and weather. Part 1: Dick Reizner talks to Reverend Kirby Hensley of the Universal Life Church of Modesto, who is opening a new church in Phoenix to escape state regulations; Eric Williams talks to Charles Runner of the Farm Labor Office about threats to cherry crop at Battaglia Cherry Orchard due to a shortage of agricultural workers. Part 2: Silent footage of cherry orchard and production; Eric Williams interviews head of San Jose State College's Law Enforcement Department Melvin Miller, who is is stepping down, about law enforcement and Supreme Court decisions; Monterey's Naval Postgraduate School celebrates 60th anniversary (silent) [includes footage of what appears to be an IBM 360 computer in action]. Part 3: "Odd Couples" golf tournament chairman Walt Natanga talks about the husband and wife group and their tournament, played at the Pleasant Hills Golf Course on East Side of San Jose.
