Photograph article dated February 1, 1964 partially reads, "The above 12 fun-loving fly-girls are TWAing to Kansas City tomorrow, see. Monday they'll hop into 12 Cessna airplanes at Wichita and fly them back to Van Nuys, landing, they say, on Wednesday. And they invited, or shall we say dared, me to fly along. As a chronically restless roving reporter, I accepted - even though tomorrow is GROUND-Hog Day and Wednesday marks the 63rd anniversary of the invention of the roller coaster. The 12 female fliers belong to the Valley chapter of the Ninety-Nines, the 1,500-member organization founded in 1929 by tousle-haired Amelia Earhart. Most of the local members have flown in Powder Puff Derby races."
