Photograph caption dated February 7, 1962 reads "Doug Michaelson, one of the smallest men on the Valley College basketball team, is all by himself as he goes in for layup against East Los Angeles City College last night at Valley College. Felix Patterson tries to defend against 5-foot, 9-inch Monarch guard who helped mates roll up thrilling 76-73 win, Valley's eighth in Metropolitan Conference play." Valley College is in Van Nuys.
