Description
Annotations/Markings: Inscribed "Those who seek are not free; / Those who are free do not seek" (trans. Stephen Addiss) along upper right edge. Signed "鵬斎老人書寫七十二" along lower right edge. One seal at upper right corner and two seals at center of lower third following signature.
Medium: ink on paper
Acquisition: Addiss-Seo Nanga Collection; on long-term loan to the Ruth and Sherman Lee Institute for Japanese Art.
Funding: Digitization funded by an Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Leadership Grant (LG 30-02-0260-02) awarded to the University of California, Merced Library.
