Description
Photograph caption dated March 5, 1964 reads, "Steve Johnson of Monroe High School shows the form that makes him one of the finest high school shot-putters to ever come out of the Valley. Johnson has already thrown the iron ball 57-7 this season and will be looking for 60 feet tomorrow when Monroe meets Van Nuys." Picture also used in article dated May 7, 1964. It partially reads, "...Shot-putter Steve Johnson of Monroe High, right, will be trying to break the magic 60-foot mark in the iron-ball event."
