Description
Biography/History: Edith Garcia is originally from Oaxaca, México, and came to the United States when she was twenty-five years old. She worked at Loew’s Hotel in Santa Monica and was a key leader in the campaign to win union representation with HERE Local 11. She was also active in the Santa Monica Living Wage and Minimum Wage campaigns. She has one daughter, who was raised on the picket lines.
