Description
Valley Times TODAY article dated May 3, 1962 partially reads, "Gov. Edmund G. Brown, campaigning for re-election Wednesday in San Fernando Valley, accused Richard Nixon of being "false in everything he has said since he became a candidate." Speaking before 650 women at a luncheon sponsored by Valley Democratic Women's League and Club 28 for Democratic Women, the governor struck at Nixon's prediction that California may lose a portion of its defense contracts... Comedian Bob Newhart performed for the audience and introduced the governor."
